Finding Your Why Quote & Note Day 5 Of 30
Over the last few days we’ve been looking at finding your “Why” or “Life Purpose”. And some of you might be putting unnecessary pressure on yourself to BE something you are not.. So if that is you.. then today this message is for you..
Just BE Yourself!..
Because what I haven’t yet mentioned yet is that your “why” doesn’t have to be massive and world changing. I mean you don’t have to be the next Mother Teresa or Gandhi. You just need to BE YOURSELF.. For your “Why” doesn’t have to be some all-consuming purpose that takes over your life..
Your purpose also doesn’t have to be something you do for a living.. It certainly can be, but it doesn’t have to be. Your reason “why” can be something simple, something you can do part-time or just as you move about your day..
Your purpose could be to help the homeless by helping out at the local soup kitchen each Sunday. Or you could make it your goal in life to bring a smile to someone’s face each day… something that can be accomplished by taking the time to talk to someone or to just give them a smile of your own…
Small things can have a big impact over time. Don’t discount them.
Maybe your purpose in life is to help shelter animals. You adopt your pets from there, spend some time volunteering and helping socialize cats and dogs to make it easier for the shelter to find families to adopt them. And maybe you’re also spending some time each week making blankets for the animals in the shelter. Just think about how something as simple as that impacts animals in need. A few hours spent purposefully on helping out will touch the lives of hundreds of animals over the course of a few years..
What I am trying to say is this…
..If finding your your “why” or ” purpose” seems
overwhelming, don’t try to imagine anything too big..
..But rather, find something small and easy you can do that you find happiness and fulfillment in doing that makes a positive difference in your life and those around you..
Start there and do what you can..
..You never know, it may grow into something bigger, but it doesn’t have to..But either way, small things can have a big impact as well and they will give you the satisfaction of a job well done..
Keeping that in mind, what actions can you take today to help you move toward finding or fulfilling your purpose in life? What one small thing can you do? Figure it out, go do it and then move on from there…
And who knows.. Before you know it, you may just have your “Why” all figured out whilst helping those around you. A true WIN/WIN for everyone..
And with that in mind I want you to ponder
on how the following applies to you..
I Wanted To Change The World!..
When I was a young man, I wanted to change the world..
I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation..
When I found I couldn't change the nation, I began to focus on my town. I couldn't change the town and as an older man, I tried to change my family..
Now, as an old man, I realize the only thing I can change is myself, and suddenly I realize that if long ago I had changed myself, I could have made an impact on my family. My family and I could have made an impact on our town. Their impact could have changed the nation and I could indeed have changed the world..

Big Wave From Small Ripples (MasterPeace Art | Original Picture Quote)
At first when she imagined finding her “Why” and “Purpose” in life she felt overwhelmed and insignificant.. Who was she to think her life could make a positive change in the world when comparing herself to the great achievers in life?.. I mean some days she struggled to even get out of bed, let alone “Change The World” who was she kidding?..
So she decided to leave such lofty ideas behind of “Changing the World”.. And instead she decided that each day she was just going to do things that made her happy.. Because she figured, if she couldn’t be kind to herself then it would be hypocritical to try and be kind to others..
So she began each day with the goal of doing things that blessed her whilst doing no harm to others, where possible.. And hey, in the act of being kind to herself and doing things that made her heart come alive, she figured if it blessed anyone else too, that would be a bonus..
But then something strange and rather unexpected happened… She found that as she began to love herself better in a healthy way, others around her began to also experience the overflow of love flowing out of her full cup onto them..
And then she woke up one day and found that she was excited to be alive for she knew her day would be filled with an Abundance of Love.. For she had found her “Why” quite by accident..
